Mr. Prior

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what additional resources he intends to make available to improve the orthopaedic services at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, in view of the shortage of beds and the long waiting list.

Mr. Crossman:

In the longer term a new ward block is planned for the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. In addition the regional hospital board and the hospital management committee are examining ways and means of increasing the facilities currently available.
