§ 42. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take the earliest opportunity of arranging for a Ministerial television broadcast to explain to the country how Great Britain's economic situation is improving ; and if he will ensure that in relaxing any of the restrictions imposed some years ago the Government's first step will be to lift those impositions which fall most heavily on the poorer sections of the population, such as the charges on the welfare services.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsOn the first part of the question I have nothing to add to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 22nd October. On the second I have no statement to make about relaxation at the present time.
