§ 13. Mr. Rhodesasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress is being made in compiling lists of historical buildings; what are the numbers involved in the various grades; and what areas have still to be surveyed.
§ Mr. GreenwoodAll the 1,308 local authority areas in England have now been surveyed and the statutory lists for the nine areas outstanding will be formally issued in the next few months. Revision of the original lists began in 1966 and so far 90 areas (including several with the heaviest concentration of listed buildings) have been re-surveyed. The statutory list now includes 112,397 buildings of which 4,227 are in Grade I and 108,170 in Grade II.
