§ 52. Mr. Woofasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been drawn to the complaint of a student, details of which have been sent to him by the hon. Member for Blaydon, who was arrested while taking photographs of the demonstration in Grosvenor Square on 17th March, 1968, was charged with assault and was convicted; and, whether in view of the details of the case, he will recommend Her Majesty to exercise her prerogative for a free pardon.
§ Mr. Elystan MorganThis complaint was fully investigated under Section 49 of the Police Act, 1964. After studying the reports of these investigations, and the documents sent by my hon. Friend, I can find no grounds to justify recommending any interference with the conviction of the student concerned.
