HC Deb 12 June 1969 vol 784 c288W
53. Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made in the setting up of local crime prevention panels; and what assessment has been made of the effectiveness of those in existence.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

There are at present 55 local crime prevention panels in England and Wales. It looks as though they will make a valuable contribution in producing ideas and schemes for the prevention of crime and strengthening relations between the police and the public, but it is too early to draw firm conclusions.
