HC Deb 17 February 1969 vol 778 c9W
48. Mr. Ridsdale

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with the Canadian Government on the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

Mr. M. Stewart

I have discussed the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation on a number of occasions with my colleagues on the Ministerial Council of that Organisation, including my Canadian colleague. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister also took advantage of the recent visit to London of Mr. Trudeau, and of the Canadian External Affairs Secretary Mr. Sharp to discuss with them world affairs generally including the future of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
