HC Deb 11 February 1969 vol 777 cc277-8W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the increase in revenue to the Exchequer of a 5 per cent. tax placed on all prizes won by racehorse owners, using as the basis the prizes actually paid last year and those envisaged in the current year.

Mr. Harold Lever

About £200,000 in 1968, and very slightly more in the current year.
