§ Mr. Sheldonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what items are included in expenditure on military defence other than expenditure on the defence budget which are not included in Annex 7 of the Defence Statistics 1967–68 covering related expenditure not included in the defence budget.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsIn addition to the items listed in Parts II and III of Annex J of Defence Statistics, progress payments on U.S. military aircraft, expenditure on the construction of married quarters met from loan funds and various minor adjustments are included in expenditure on military defence other than expenditure on the defence budget. Estimated provision in 1967–68 for these items was £186 million, £13 million and £1 million (net) respectively.
