§ Mr. Peter Millsasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity, in view of the increasing difficulties for the new industries of North Devon and, in particular, Bideford, to find suitable employees, what action her Department is taking to satisfy this demand and prevent a possible hold-up in the industrial development of this area.
§ Mr. DellMy Department has assisted in filling vacancies at the new firms in the area by putting potentially suitable workpeople in touch, by providing financial assistance to workers moving into the area and by giving assistance with the training of workers. We shall continue to help in all these ways as necessary.
