HC Deb 25 April 1969 vol 782 c139W
Dame Joan Vickers

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in view of Recommendation 177 on security in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, adopted by the Assembly of Western European Union on 20th February, 1969, whether the Government will agree to closer economic and political links with Yugoslavia.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

In recent years relations between the United Kingdom and Yugoslavia have developed in economic and other respects to the advantage and satisfaction of, we believe, both sides. Her Majesty's Government will continue to foster this development by all means consistent with their respect for the Yugoslav Government's nonaligned foreign policy.
