Mr. Judd

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contribution Her Majesty's Government will make towards the United Nations Education and Training Programme for Southern Africa in the financial year 1969–70.

Mr. Foley

My right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Lord Cara-don, has informed the Security Council that, subject to Parliamentary approval, Her Majesty's Government will contribute £50,000 to this Programme during the financial year, 1969–70. Parliament will be asked to approve the necessary supplementary estimate in due course. In the meantime, an advance will be sought from the Civil Contingencies' Fund.
