asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether a decision has yet been taken about extending the Cairns Committee review procedure to all cases of refusal of passport facilities.

Mr. Whitlock

Yes. My right hon. Friend has decided to set up an advisory committee to which cases of persons who appeal against a decision to deny them passports would be referred.

There will be early consultations through the usual channels about membership of this Committee.
