HC Deb 21 April 1969 vol 782 c35W
Mr. Gordon Campbell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what further action the Government have now decided to take to alleviate the situation at Inverurie which will result from the closure of the locomotive works by the end of the year.

Mr. Ross

Already there has been an encouraging response to the Government's campaign to find alternative industry for Inverurie, and a number of inquiries about development in the town are being actively pursued. It will be necessary to see how these inquiries progress before considering whether any further action is required.
