HC Deb 09 December 1968 vol 775 c43W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the confusion caused to Scottish pupils in the variety of examinations they may sit to qualify for university entrance; and if he will introduce legislation to provide a single examination for this purpose.

Mr. Ross

I am not aware of any confusion. As regards the second part of the question, the responsibility for entrance requirements rests with the universities and I have received no representations that it should be otherwise.
