HC Deb 04 December 1968 vol 774 c482W
78. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in the light of the Government's recently proposed fiscal measures and other actions taken to assist in United Kingdom balance of payments problem, he will now take steps to prevent or limit the import of one-armed bandits, pin tables and juke boxes, which currently cost about £4 million per annum in hard currency.

Mr. Dell

These products are covered by the import deposit scheme which is designed to secure some immediate reduction in imports.
