§ 79. Mr. Speedasked the President of the Board of Trade why the first information on investment grant payments by industry and by region was not published until 18 months after investment grants came into operation.
§ Mr. DellThe Annual Report for the financial year ended 31st March, 1968, was published on 10th October, 1968. This was the first Report to include statistics of payments under the scheme and there were inevitably new problems of preparation and presentation. If the Report can be published more quickly next year, this will certainly be done.
§ 80. Mr. Speedasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will now provide a breakdown of investment grant payments by industry and region in respect of the calendar years 1966 and 1967 on a comparable basis with normal economic statistic series.
§ Mr. DellIn addition to the information on payments in the Annual Reports, we intend to provide tables of eligible expenditure incurred in calendar years as soon as the necessary information is available.
