HC Deb 10 April 1968 vol 762 c272W
77. Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science why the allocation of funds for the proposed comprehensive school at Bloxham has been reduced; when the school will now be completed; and if he will make a statement.

Miss Bacon

The Oxfordshire Local Education Authority submitted a proposal to include a 720-place instalment of this school in the 1968–69 school building programme. When the programme was first considered by the Department, the size of the project was reduced to 450 places because the original submission included a large element of replacement for existing buildings, for which only limited resources were available. The inclusion of this smaller project in the revised programme for 1968–69 is still under consideration. The authority has not yet submitted proposals for building a further instalment of the school.
