§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsIn the academic year 1966–67 the number of students from Scotland entering universities in Great Britain was 8.3 per cent. of the total population of 18-year-olds in Scotland. The corresponding figure for England and Wales was 5.3 per cent. These figures make allowance for the estimated proportion of overseas students in the total admission figures.
