§ Mr. RossAs the hon. Member will know, my hon. Friend the Joint Parliamentary Under Secretary of State met representatives of Glasgow Corporation recently to discuss the Corporation's proposal for wider powers of arrest for the carrying of offensive weapons. I am now giving further consideration to the proposal in the light of that meeting. The representatives and my hon. Friend agreed, however, that it was desirable that they should have further discussions on the social aspects of delinquency and on what practical steps could be taken to improve the position. A meeting for this purpose will take place shortly.
