HC Deb 15 November 1967 vol 754 c137W
Mr. Kitson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now announce the name of the new chairman of the Horserace Betting Levy Board.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

I have appointed my right hon. Friend the Member for Dudley (Mr. Wigg) with effect from 16th November.

Mr. Jopling

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the salary of the last Chairman of the Horse-race Betting Levy Board; and what will be the salary of the next one.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

The salary of the last Chairman was £4,000 a year. I have told the Board that I am prepared to approve an increase for his successor in view of the amount of time which he will be devoting to the Board.
