HC Deb 14 December 1967 vol 756 c204W
68. Sir Langford-Holt

asked the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs whether, in order to ensure its independence of Government, he will introduce legislation to give to the National Board for Prices and Incomes the power itself to select the matters into which it will inquire.

Mr. Frederick Lee:

No. The independence of the Board has been clearly established by Parliament under the Prices and Incomes Act.
