§ Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether in future years he will extend the opportunity to watch Operation Seaday to representatives of the staff and industrial grades at Her Majesty's Dockyard, Portsmouth.
§ Mr. J. P. W. MallalieuThe main purpose of Seaday is to show the Navy to people outside the Service. People in the Navy Department are not outsiders, and when space is limited they must give way to other guests; but this year I am glad that we were able to invite 50 civilians from Portsmouth Dockyard to Seaday rehearsals. I cannot undertake that this will always be possible.
