§ 84. Mr. Bidwellasked the Minister of Transport if she will give a general direction, in the public interest, to the British Railways Board to ensure that there is no discrimination against coloured railway workers in considering personnel for promotion.
§ 85. Mr. Fisherasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the fact that a colour bar is in operation for promotional employment at certain stations, whether she will give a general direction to British Railways to discontinue this practice.
§ 89. Mr. Thorpeasked the Minister of Transport if she will give a general direction, in the national interest, to British Railways that in making staff appointments at all levels the racial origins of applicants should be ignored.
