HC Deb 19 July 1966 vol 732 c63W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will call for reports from chief constables on the methods they use to enforce the law concerning the efficiency of silencers on motor vehicles, excessive engine noise and the sounding of horns on stationary vehicles and within the prohibited night hours.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

While I do not underrate the importance of these matters, I do not consider that any useful purpose would be served at the present stage by calling for a special return on the lines suggested.
