§ Mr. Roy JenkinsBetween the beginning of August, 1965, and the end of May, 1966, about 7,070 vouchers were issued, 7,358 voucher holders were admitted (some with vouchers obtained before the period began) ; and 32,146 persons were admitted as the dependants of Commonwealth citizens entering the United Kingdom or already resident here. As stated in paragraph 19 of the White Paper (Cmnd. 2379), the Government propose no change in the statutory right of the wife of an immigrant and his children under 16 to accompany or follow him to this country.
