asked the Postmaster-General what steps he is taking to improve communications within the Commonwealth.

Britain and many other Commonwealth countries are participating in the international organisation which is developing a global system of satellite communications. The latest stage of the Commonwealth telephone cable system, connecting Australia with Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, will be completed by the end of 1966. A Commonwealth Telecommunications Conference is being held in London in March, 1966 to discuss Commonwealth co-operation in telecommunications.
