HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 c312W
61. Mr. Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has as to whether any of the four older universities are now preparing proposals for amending their constitutions and applying for charters.

Mr. Millan

All the four universities are engaged in the revision of their constitutions entailed by the Universities (Scotland) Act, 1966. Until they have made the changes involved and have some experience of them, they will not be in a position to consider the question of reconstitution by charter.
