HC Deb 21 December 1966 vol 738 cc333-4W
93. Dr. Gray

asked the Minister of Transport what requests for sanction of capital expenditure she has received for modernisation of East Anglian ports and harbours, in view of Great Britain's proposed entry into the European Economic Community.

Mr. Swingler

My right hon. Friend has authorised the British Railways Board to provide vehicle ferry and container facilities costing £2.5 million at Harwich (Parkeston Quay), and has offered a loan of up to £1.5 million towards similar developments at Felixstowe.

The British Transport Docks Board are, I understand, considering improvements at Lowestoft and King's Lynn costing over £1 million in all.
