HC Deb 04 August 1966 vol 733 c149W
18. Mr. Ellis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will review the regulations on house to house collections and make proposals in order to alter the present situation, whereby some permits are issued by his Department, and some by chief constables, which results in too many unplanned approaches to the general public.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Bristol, Central (Mr. Palmer) on 28th July.
