HC Deb 04 May 1965 vol 711 cc138-9W
58. Mr. Onslow

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what action he is taking to protect the interests of British pensioners resident in New Zealand, in view of the failure to negotiate a new double taxation agreement between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of New Zealand.

Mr. MacDermot

I hope that it will be possible to negotiate a new double taxation agreement with New Zealand. In the meantime, though pensions from this country received by residents in New Zealand will now be liable to United Kingdom tax, I understand that, in general, double taxation relief will be given in New Zealand.
