HC Deb 09 March 1965 vol 708 c62W
96. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he is aware that many householders who intended to sublet part of their houses are now afraid to do so as a tenant who proved undesirable could not now be evicted without long court proceedings, so that owners or tenants are now refusing to sub-let; and what action he will take to avoid this situation.

Mr. Crossman

The importance of dealing as quickly as possible with urgent applications for possession has been impressed on all county courts. Where a landlord has asked a court to expedite the hearing it has usually proved possible to do so.
