§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what was the value of mini-minor works carried out by educational authorities in Dorset last year which next year they will not be enabled to do without Ministerial consent.
§ Mr. CroslandMini-minor projects to the value of £42,000 were carried out by the Dorset local education authority in 1963–64; the corresponding figure for the first nine months of 1964–65 was £31,000. These projects do not normally require my consent, but in future they will have to be charged to the authority's minor works allocation.
§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science why he has reduced the volume of building improvements, commonly called mini-minor works, which local authorities used to be able to do without obtaining Ministerial consent.
