§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that Dutch and Polish trawlers in fishing grounds off Aberdeen have deliberately fouled the nets and gear of Aberdeen trawlers at sea; and if he will set up an inquiry into these incidents with a view to stopping them.
§ Mr. RossI am unaware of any incidents involving Aberdeen trawlers although there have been occasional incidents involving other types of Scottish fishing vessels. I do not consider that an inquiry as proposed by my hon. and learned Friend would serve a useful purpose.
