HC Deb 18 July 1963 vol 681 c79W
42. Mr. Longden

asked the President of the Board of Trade what plans he has for encouraging British industry to manufacture in Latin-American countries the type of equipment produced by British heavy industries in partnership with the host countries.

Mr. Erroll

The Government do not seek to influence firms' commercial judgment in this matter. British firms may set up manufacture in Latin America, as in other parts of the world, subject to their obtaining Exchange Control permission for the remittance of funds outside the Sterling Area.
