HC Deb 18 July 1963 vol 681 c79W
41. Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many Scottish firms, likely to be able to supply components for the motor industry at Bathgate, have applied for assistance under the terms of the recent Budget proposals.

46. Mr. Gourlay

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many small firms in Scotland have now made inquiries to his Department regarding financial assistance which would enable them to manufacture components for the motor industry at competitive prices.

Mr. Erroll

Six applications for the new standard grants introduced under the Local Employment Act, 1963, have been received from firms manufacturing components for the motor industry. There are many other applications from light engineering firms of varying size who may also be in a position to supply components to the motor manufacturers in Scotland.
