48. Mr. Callaghan

asked the Minister of Labour if he will give particulars of minimum or standard time rates current at the latest convenient date in the following occupation, namely: welder, in the constructional engineering, gas supply (maintenance), and shipbuilding industries.

Mr. Hare

The current minimum or standard time rate for a welder in constructional engineering is 227s. 6d. a week, in gas supply (maintenance) 234s. 6d. a week and in shipbuilding 197s. 4d. a week.
