HC Deb 12 December 1962 vol 669 c80W
Mr. P. Williams

asked the Minister of Transport how much money has been spent in the last 12 months on new road construction in Northumberland and Durham; and what percentage this is of the national total.

Mr. Marples

The amount of money spent on new road construction, including major improvements in the geographical counties of Northumberland and Durham during the financial year which ended 31st March, 1962 (the last 12-month period for which figures are available) was £2.03 million. This was about 2.7 per cent. of the total figure for England and Wales for the same period.
