HC Deb 27 November 1961 vol 650 c10W
85. Mr. Swingler

asked the Lord Privy Seal what is the number of advisers attending him at the negotiations on the Common Market; what are their respective specialities; how they are accommodated; and for how long he plans to keep them abroad.

Mr. Heath

The delegation, which is led at the official level by Sir Pierson Dixon, Her Majesty's Ambassador in Paris, includes six senior advisers from the Treasury, the Foreign Office, the Commonwealth Relations Office, the Colonial Office, the Board of Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. They and with one exception the other members of the delegation are accommodated in hotels. The length of their stay in Brussels will depend upon the course of the negotiations.
