§ 54. Mr. Danceasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the fact that the draft scheme for the motorway between Lydiate Ash and Great Barr was published in March, 1960, what is the case of the delay in fixing the line of route so that the scheme can be made.
§ Mr. HayUnexpected difficulties have arisen over the northern section of the line of route. These are still under consideration. We have therefore decided to proceed separately with the southern section between Lydiate Ash and Quinton. We have recently invited the Worcestershire County Council to act as our agents for the further preparation of this section which will be built in advance of the remainder of the motorway.
