§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe number of offences of murder reported as known to the police in 1960 was 152. Returns of cases of manslaughter and infanticide are still incomplete, but the known figures are 102 and 18, respectively; these relate to police districts covering about 95 per cent. of the population. Figures for 1961 are not yet available.
