§ Mr. Harold Daviesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what the average rent per acre of agricultural holdings was in the county of Stafford in 1948 as compared with the rent per acre each year since the 1948 Act was revised in 1958, as in Annex 79 of Statute Revised, Vol. XXXII, page 407, S. 8 (1), so as to change the method of rent assessments.
Mr. Vane:The Cambridge University Department of Estate Management in their survey of farm rents published last year estimated the average rent in the county of Stafford at 30s. per acre in 1942 and 50s. per acre in 1957. I have no information about the intervening or the more recent years.
