§ 57. Sir B. Jannerasked the Minister of Transport how many bus and train accidents occurred in each of the last three years for which figures are available.
§ Mr. Marples:There were 1,205 train accidents in 1957, 1,186 in 1958 and 1,154 in 1959. I regret that comparable figures for bus accidents are not available, but the numbers of public service vehicles involved in accidents in which someone was killed or injured were 23,742, 23,099 and 23,556 respectively for the three years in question.
