HC Deb 09 February 1961 vol 634 cc86-7W
Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will institute an inquiry into the medical and social aspects of abortion and into the wider problems of the conception and birth of unwanted children, in view of the increase of illegal abortion and the 21 years which have elapsed since legislation on this subject was reviewed.

Mr. R. A. Butler:

I should prefer to await the discussion on the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Bill which has been introduced by the hon. Member for St. Pancras, North (Mr. K. Robinson).
