HC Deb 09 November 1960 vol 629 cc48-9W
Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Minister of Transport what proposals have so far been made by the London Traffic Management Unit for the improvement of traffic conditions in London; and when if is intended they will be carried out.

Mr. Marples

The London Traffic Management Unit has been engaged in preparing a number of major schemes for improving London traffic. I expect to be able to announce some of them shortly. Many other less important traffic schemes have also been prepared and have been put into effect. In addition, the Unit has undertaken the examination of the increasing number of parking meter schemes submitted to me by local authorities.
