HC Deb 29 June 1960 vol 625 c124W
Captain Kerby

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether, as the result of the unavoidable delay in commissioning H.M.S. "Jaguar" for operational service, the South Atlantic and South American Squadron will for a considerable term consist of only one frigate; and whether he is satisfied that the strength of this squadron is sufficient to look after British interests and deal with local emergencies in that vast area.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

We have made arrangements to replace H.M.S. "Jaguar" on the South Atlantic and South America Station. The squadron will therefore be at full strength.
