57. Mr. Morris

asked the Minister of Health the number of patients in St. Lawrence Hospital, Chepstow, whose home is either in Port Talbot, or west of Port Talbot; and what arrangements are made for giving financial assistance in needy cases to their near relatives to assist them to travel to Chepstow.

Miss Pitt

On 17th June, 21 of the 149 patients in this hospital came from Port Talbot and the West; help with the cost of fares can be given in cases of need from the Hospital Samaritan Fund, the National Assistance Board or the Local Health Authority.

asked the Minister of Health the number of miners and steelworkers, respectively, who are patients in St. Lawrence Hospital, Chepstow.

asked the Minister of Health what special arrangements are made at the St. Lawrence Hospital, Chepstow, for the patients' relatives who have to travel from West Wales.

Arrangements are made at the hospital for visitors who have travelled long distances to be accommodated overnight or for longer periods if required.
