HC Deb 27 June 1960 vol 625 c85W
56. Mr. K. Robinson

asked the Minister of Health how he intends to implement the recommendation of the Pilkington Commission that medical superintendents of mental hospitals should receive an additional emolument of £250 per annum, in the light of his guidance to hospital authorities on the future of medical superintendents.

Mr. Walker-Smith

No guidance has yet been issued; but I should assume that, if the Report were implemented as a whole in accordance with the Government's offer to the medical profession, the allowance would be payable to all existing holders of medical superintendent posts and also to such persons as might in future be appointed to such posts.
