HC Deb 27 June 1960 vol 625 cc84-5W
54. Mr. Hocking

asked the Minister of Health what steps he proposes to take to relieve the overcrowded conditions at the Central Hospital, Hatton, following the report of the Commissioner of the Board of Control after his visit of inspection in March.

Miss Pitt

My right hon. and learned Friend is much concerned about the overcrowding in the night accommodation at this hospital, as are the regional hospital board and the hospital management committee. Certain improvements have been proposed but we have asked the board as a matter of urgency to have the position reviewed again to see what more can be done.

55. Mr. Hocking

asked the Minister of Health the average sum spent on repairs and redecorations at the Central Hospital, Hatton, per year since 1950.

Miss Pitt

I am informed that the average annual expenditure on the maintenance of buildings, plant, and grounds since April, 1950, has been £44,330.
