Mr. Kelleyasked the Minister of Education if he has considered the urgent request from the Yorkshire Association of Education Committees that a teachers' day training college should be established in South Yorkshire; and when he is likely to be able to give a decision on the proposal for such an establishment by the West Riding Education Committee.
§ Sir D. EcclesSubject to settlement with the West Riding Authority of certain outstanding points, I am ready to approve the establishment at Swinton of a teacher training college for day students. I hope the college will open early next year and will help to ease the difficult teacher supply position in the South Yorkshire area.
