HC Deb 24 November 1959 vol 614 c20W
61. Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many new towns he intends to start in the next four years under the terms of the 1946 Act.

Mr. Maclay

Further action, under the New Towns Act, 1946, will be considered when it is clear that such action is needed and will not disturb the plans and programmes of those local authorities, and the three existing new towns, who have already contracted to take overspill population and industry from Glasgow.
